In August 8, cashew exports hit a new record high
In August 8, Vietnam's cashew exports reached a new record high of 2023.60 thousand tons, worth $58.333 million.
On April 21, 2020, the Malaysia Trade Office (abbreviated MATRADE) in Nigeria informed the ASEAN Trade Representative Group in Nigeria (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam) as follows: Vietnamese Translation of Vietnamese Embassy in Nigeria (Vietnamese translation, for reference. Original English email below) “The Trade Commissioner of Malaysia has contacted Malaysia Airlines (abbreviated as MAS), to plan the repatriation of some Malaysian citizens returning to Kuala Lumpur. If accepted, MAS will dispatch an Airbus A330 with a capacity of 400 passengers to Lagos (Nigeria). There are currently 22 Malaysians in Nigeria wishing to repatriate.
Hence, MATRADE also would like to invite the citizens of VietNam, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines in Nigeria, transited in Cairo (Egypt), to participate in this flight to full up the seats. They will be sent back to each of their home countries once landed in KLIA. MATRADE already informed Malaysia Airlines and they are OK with this.
1) Schedule from Lagos-Cairo-Kuala Lumpur:
This is a charter flight, so will depends on the approval and preparedness of the passengers. The schedule will be decided soon.
2) Price:
The Price is approximately USD700+/ pax. However, it would be suggested for each passenger to prepare to have at least USD1,000.00/pax.
3) Recommendation the hotels in Kuala Lumper, for transit before flight back to each home countries:
Malaysia Airlines informed that, the transit period will not be long. So there is no need for hotels. Once the passengers disembark from the plane in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the other ASEAN Nationalities will be screened for couple of hours, before boarding another flight to each country, in the same day. That is why we need to know the numbers of others ASEAN friends in this flight, so MAS can prepare the aircrafts. (The ticket price to your home countries shall be included in Ticket price from Lagos)
4) Contact person in Lagos;
MATRADE shall be the contact point. However, it will be more helpful if each country can appoint one contact point for your citizens in Nigeria (Egypt transit), and channel the information to MATRADE.
5) How to pay?
MATRADE will inform you about the payment method, once we received the green light from MAS and Putrajaya.
6) The Route
- MAS are still negotiating with several countries for airspaces, due to West Africa is not their station. However, the estimated route will be KL-Lagos-Cairo-KL. When the flight arrived in KLIA, the passengers will go on separate flight to each home countries. (Using 737-800)
This is just an early notification and still in progress. We still in discussing and arranging. However, really appreciate if you can spread this news to your citizens in Nigeria, Egypt and Malaysia, if any of them are interested and they can prepare. Also, please list down their names with their passport details, contact numbers. It will be helpful, if we can have the numbers as soon as possible.
